Hello Everyone,

I need advice on my case before I submit application for sponsoring my wife and my daughter. I'm a permanent resident (2005),got married in April 2008, baby born March 2009 and since our marriage we have been living together in Pakistan for over 2yrs now until June 2010 when we decided to (I) move back to Canada to sponsor them since they are not a Canadian resident. Now, I'm in Canada ready to sponsor them.

Because of my absence from Canada that stretches to over 2.5 yrs, there are some questions that come to my mind for which I need answers before I make an application to get the process going nice and smooth.

Here are some facts that will help you give me a suggestions.

PR (Sept 2005)
Married (April 2008).
Baby Born (March 2009)
Outside Canada period = 3 months (January 2006-March 2006)
Again on Sept 2007 - June 2010 (33 months)
PR expiring - October 2010

My questions are,
#1. Can I submit an application to sponsor write away or will I have to wait until I meet the 5 year 730-day residency requirement?

#2. I ' m in process of sending a PR renewal application for which the turn around time is 6 months , will that effect my sponsorship application?

#3. I',m currently unemployed and I dont have 12-month Canadian Employment history as I was away from Canada, but since there's no minimum income requirement for spousal sponsor can I still file the application? I have never been on any kind of assistance and no bankruptcy but little bit of shaky credit history.

#4. I have profound intention to re-establish in Canada, However, to prove this to CIC, I can show rental lease (for house) and Job (hope to get soon). Will that be sufficient for my PR renewal? In retrospect, Will this also be helpful in qualifying myself as an eligible sponsor.

I really am thankful for your patience to read all this. Your thoughts and suggestions are highly appreciated.

As long as you meet the residency requirements, you can sponsor. There is no income requirement, and you will have to prove your intent to re-establish.But as for the residency obligations im not sure, just make sure you can get back in yourself first.

Will you meet the 5-year 730-day residency requirement by October 2010? You are cutting it close - 36 months out of Canada so far. Since you're back in Canada now, you'll have to stay in Canada until October.
If you will be meeting the residency requirements, you can send in the application right away. Since you are a PR, you will have to stay in Canada while it is being processed.

You don't need a job or an income to sponsor your wife and child. They are unlikely to find out about your credit history. Since you were out of Canada, you can provide evidence of the job you did have in Pakistan on your application.

I don't know if it is enough for the PR renewal, but it is more than enough to qualify as a sponsor.
