Hopefully, a month or less.

Its close to 8 months since AOR, and still waiting for PPR. Today, I have sent an email to NDVO (primary VO is NDVO), and also raised a CSE with NDVO. Lets see if I get any response. This wait has now started getting on my nerves.

Can you please give us the email address for NDVO?

Hi Friends,

I have a question. Do we need to show some minimum amount of funds while landing at Canada? if yes, what's the amount?
Do they also want to see the proof of funds that we had shown while while applying for Express entry?

My wife & I, had submitted our passports at the local VFS office in Mumbai, on 8th of Sept'16. We are yet to receive any notification. I guess, they will take 8-10 working days to process the same. Am I right?

Regards,
Sourav

It all depends on the officer. Some people have reported being asked for POF, while others have not. But, its always advisable to carry all the relevant documents including the POF. Amount is the same that you have shown during your EE application.
An updated bank statement showing the required POF will work just fine.
I have seen many people reporting the same timeline (7-10 days).

Okay..We had shown different source of funds as POF (like FDs, Bank Statements etc). Do we need to carry originals/copies of all of them?
Regarding the amount that we need to carry while entering Canada, in what form will they be required? Traveller's cheque and all should be fine, isn't it? what's the amount to be shown for this fund that we would carry (or will it be the same as the POF that we had shown before)?

Sourav

You need to be prepared to demonstrate the minimum amount necessary upon landing- the exact amount is dependent on how many family members are immigrating into Canada. You can check the exact amount here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/funds.asp

You do not need to demonstrate that you have all of this money in your possession upon landing- just that they are readily accessible to you in a liquid form for as soon as you may need them. Thus, for instance, you can have $5000 CAD on you when you land, with an additional $11000 CAD in your bank account back home, and use the statement from that bank to demonstrate the existence of that money.

Finally, as for passports, you can refer to this thread, where we are all sharing our post PPR passport submission timelines. It seems as though everyone who submitted on 7 September or beyond is still waiting for their passport to be returned.

Thanks a lot for your detailed insight into the subject..

you are right,it seems that NDVO has slowed down a bit in their process of stamping the passports and sending them back!
