Dear Seniors,

I had applied for PCC for myself as well as for my wife more than a month back. I received mine but my wife's PCC is still pending at the consulate with no updated status. We called the VFS customer care as well to inquire about the delay but they too did not have any idea.

Since the PCC is valid only for 3 months, would you advise if I should go ahead and submit the application w/o my wife's PCC and provide a written explanation stating that the PCC would be sent as soon as we receive it. Also, when can we expect to receive the file number after submitting the application ?

Kindly advise.

Thanks.

Hi Canadavisa07,

as per checklist, PCC valid for 1 year and it is not mandatory to submit PCC along with applictaion.

so you should be able to submit your application and once submit you have to wait atleast 3 months to get your AOR etc..

thanks

The pcc is valid for 1 year but it should not have been issued more than 3 months from the date you submit your application. You can:

1. wait for hers and hope that yours is not older than 3 months when you submit the application or

2. submit the application without hers with a written explanation stating it will be sent when you receive it. Note that you will have to wait for your file number(i.e. acknowledgement of receipt) before you can send additional documents. No telling when you will get this, and her pcc may be over the 3 months timeframe at this point and you may have to apply for it again, resulting in delays.

The checklist or guide says that submitting a complete application the first time is one way to reduce delays. So based on that, if I was in your shoes and still had time before the 3 months is up for my pcc, I'd wait for hers. Otherwise, option 2 is the next best thing, with fingers crossed. The final decision is yours. :)

Thanks Senorita for the valuable advice.

I'll go with option 1 that sounds better.

I would suggest to go with option 2, as you get 3 months of time until you receive your file No and your File will be placed in Queue.
