PR application under QSW category is taking forever

Hi,

I applied to the QSW category and sent my documents to Sydney Nova Scotia, who then sent it to Ottawa (considered as "from outside of Canada").

I have a Bachelor in Science from a University in Quebec and a Master Degree from Japan. I got married 6 months while in Japan and got the Quebec Selection Certificate for me and my husband in October 2013 but then we got a divorce in November 2013. He went back to Japan and I stayed in Canada to work in my field. I have a work permit until December 2014 for my current job, since I had a job in QC everybody assured me I should have my PR within 6 months. I sent along with the app my medical results, my criminal background check of every country I lived in (Canada, Japan and country of citizenship) and applied to PR alone (without my ex husband). Since January 6th, on eCas it says :

"Application Received".
1. Application received on December 30th 2013
2. Medical Results received

This status hasn't changed since January 2014, we're now in August it's been 8 months, can't tell you how much I'm worrying my apps went down to the darkness of abyss or that something went wrong. How long will it take before I can receive my PR??

ps : I hold a European citizenship not to name the country.

To me, this timeline seems pretty standard. It hasn't even been a full nine months since your application was initially received. In most cases, you are granted PR within one year of your medical exam as it is only valid for a year.

For me, it's better to call or email them.There's nothing to lose when you ask.

Dont worry at all u r on the safe side. It takes 11-12 months to get landing papers.
