Are you sure? According to their link, http://www.cic.gc.ca/ENGLISH/visit/visas.asp, British passport holders do not need a visa and therefore we only need to send a photocopy of our passport details page. Anyway, I've sent ours with passport photocopies now so it's too late if I do need to send the actual passports.

In the same situation as you - from Bermuda (a UK dependent territory). I called CIC and the friendly lady (being very sarcastic here ) i spoke to said that a permit is a permit, a visa is a visa....two different things so if i'm on a work permit and don't require any other visa then I can submit copies of my passport. But i see now you already submitted, so this was all a waste of time

oh..and p.s.

You send regular passport photos now for your PPR. Almost had an argument with the lady today at walmart when she handed me a set of passport photos. I was like..the PR photos i took before were smaller. She said "yeah, I know....they were 35mm x 45mm but now CIC is taking 50mm x 70mm photos a.k.a. passport photos". I was like......"oh....right..i knew that :-["

guys.. when I logged in to MY CIC today, I see in the "updated" in the details section. after looking into the status it changed to submitted. is this normal?

I have mailed different people . Everyone is going to a professional studio where they does Canadian immigration and passport photos like the one which is given below ,

you will have to find a studio like this in your state .

No use with wallgreens , costco, wallmart, J C penny photos , Target photos, and Samsclub
