Pre-Assessed..
Hey guys,

I understand everything about this process, but what happens after you submit all documents together with the e-APR?

Can you guys please explain what are the next steps?

What should I expect?

Thanks

Once you submit application online. Drink beer and relax and wait for the communication from CIC

Hehe))) Yeah, that's on my list.

But what I mean is, after you submit the application you should be receiving AOR, right?

So what then? I have seen ppl here discussing some weird abbreviations (like PPR date, etc), which I can't make sense of. That's why I started this thread to understand the process AFTER submission.

I would greatly appreciate if anyone could explain.

Yes and also words like E-APR, PPR etc...

After you submit your application, you receive an AOR - acknowledgment of receipt.

You will then wait and at some point your medical status may change to pass, review of eligibility will change to in progress, etc.

You may also receive additional document request after a few days or weeks from CIC such as Schedule 4 if you are a PNP - Provincial Nominee Program applicant.

After about 3-6 months of status updates from CIC, you may receive a PPR - Passport request, depending on whether or not you are from a country that requires a visa to visit Canada. You will receive instructions on how to mail you passport or copy of your passport to CIC. After this is done, you will receive your passport back with a COPR - Confirmation of Permanent Residence document. You will use this document when landing in Canada after which you will officially become a PR of Canada.

In addition, you may receive ghost emails in between. Ghost emails are those that say your application has been updated after which there may or may not be an update to your application or profile.

There used to be ECAS access which has been gone since November 2015.

Thank you so much everyone for replies.

And do I got all of the updates and communication via email?
