PR Application Submitted - Urgent Advice Needed

Hello All,

This is my first post on this awesome, helpful and informative forum. Hoping to be able to help others achieve their Canadian dream as well.

In the meantime, I do have a few questions:

1) I had already submitted my PR application on 12/3/2016 and uploaded the last requested document (police certificate) on 27/3/2016. I have yet to receive any updates after that date (Medicals passed a few days after submission, but Background check still not started) - is this normal?

2) I have recently come to realize that the money I had shown as proof of funds is below the minimum amount required as per the LICO. I made sure I had more than the minimum saved in my bank account at the time of PR application but unfortunately I didn't check the currency exchange rate on the day of submission and it turned out I was a few hundreds short than the minimum required amount. Is there a chance my application could be rejected due to this minor mistake? Do you advise me to send a CSE with a LOE and updated bank letter showing more than the required amount (according to current exchange rate) just to be on the safe side? Will they accept it or become even more suspicious and reject the application altogether?

3) Will CIC or Visa Office ask for proof of funds again at any stage after PR application submission?

Appreciate your comments in advance.

Thanks All.

Yes, very normal. Could take a while for any more updates.

2) I have recently come to realize that the money I had shown as proof of funds is below the minimum amount required as per the LICO. Absolutely, do this ASAP. This is a major issue. IRCC seems to take the funds part pretty seriously and many officers/agents seem to follow the book pretty much to the letter. You won't be penalized for raising the CSE but your application may be rejected for not having enough POF. The choice is clear.

3) Will CIC or Visa Office ask for proof of funds again at any stage after PR application submission?
Based on what many other posters have gone through, most likely not. If there's any issue with your POF, then chances are the application will be outright rejected

Appreciate your comments in advance.

Thanks All.

raise a CSE and attach your bank statement or what ever you have provided as POF and also write a LOE and explain polietly about the currency change and how it has effected your case.

do this right away , because it usually takes about 2 weeks for CIC to pick up a CSE and attach the doucuments to your file hence if your file is reviewed by a VO before it has updated POF he or she might reject it.

+1 if my post helped

Thank you all so very much for your kind replies. I will take action immediately.

One more thing, will a bank letter/certificate stating the current/final balance be sufficient or do I have to provide bank statements as well?

Thanks again.

I would suggest to raise a CSE as soon as possible at https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/canada-case-cas-eng.aspx Also, provide as many supporting documents (bank statements, stamped letters, or even gift money letters from parent, friends) as possible. Remember to translate and notarize all non-English and non-French documents. You may also consider to write a short letter of explanation apologizing for your previous mistake in the calculation of exchange rates. I remember the legendary @ Asivad Anac also got rejected due to in-convincing source of funds.

Best luck with your application :)
