PR Application rejected due to birth certificate

i applied for PR in may and provided the DOB letter from india counsulate - which mentions my DOB is xxxxx as per the passport records. my application got rejected with reason mentioning, they don't accept passport date as DOB letter. Also they mention i can submit my secondary school records with my name, DOB and parent's name.

I am planning to resubmit but have following doubts:
1. is there any waiting period to reapply.
2. I have secondary school leaving certificate with all required details. do i need to submit the affidavit along with the secondary school leaving certificate?

Luck not your way. Have seen many such cases where the VO has written for School Certificate or Affidavit to be submitted. But rejection is the extreme. Certificate of DOB issued by CGI is not acceptable by CIC as the evidence for Date of Birth.

(1) If it is reapplying, there is no waiting period.
(2) Make sure your school certificate has your name in full, your parents' name (either Mother or Father or both) and your DOB. Why take chances. Submit an
Affidavit as well along with your school certificate.

Really unfortunate that CIC can reject application for such simple reason. They could have ask for proof of your birth.

Just wondering, can you post your rejection letter or is there any other reason behind the rejection. I would strongly suggest you to obtain GCMS note of your file before you reapply. This will help you to understand the actual reason and help you to correct your future application.

I think they just returned your package from Nova Scotia while checking documents. If you applied in May 2013, Its not Rejection.
& it all depends on Luck, my friend provided DOB letter from India consulate and he have already done his Medicals.

you are probably right, May 13 application will not be rejected so soon.

Is it really rejection or a simple package return? Are you going to get a fee refund?

Dinesh, please post complete details of your case. There is a big difference between REFUSAL and REJECTION in PR process. If you applied in MAY 2013, it is refusal (during initial screening at CIO) and not rejection.

I think CIC simply returned the application.
CIC can not reject any application for DOB since it is not at all a criteria for rejection.

hey buddy CIC had returned my application package for the same reason , please resubmit it with a copy of ur birth certificate from ur place of birth or with a higher secondary marksheet which specfies ur birth date

my mistake. the documents got refused while screening in nova scotia.

My name is mentioned in format of firstname.initial in my secondary school leaving certificate and it has other details including DOB and fathers name. Is it good for reapplying with affidavit?

Yes. Submit a copy of this school record and also an Affidavit to be on a safer side.

Ooops!! You should have submitted your application with an affidavit. Later in the process, VO will ask for another supporting document such as school certificate. They never accepted letter from Indian Consulate. Next time when you apply, get the affidavit. It's quick, easy and solid.

Rejected???? Are you sure??? Did they send you an email saying that you have been rejected because.........?
I think you may be mistaken; if they have sent your package back then it definitely is not a rejection. All you have to do is send it back with the documents they have indicated as acceptable proof of DOB.

As far as I can see I am not answering your query....

I had read this person's question and the subsequent answers and, I had responded because it always gives people confidence when different people confirm the same thing. Just because "bickyii" has responded does not mean that I cannot respond to someone's question.

If you have a problem with me being repetitive.........too bad.........its your problem.
