Hi there,

I’m currently living and working in Canada with a working visa (LMIA)

I’m about to apply for PR but I have a question regardinf the proof of funds.

In the application for the invitation there is a question that asks how much money I’ll be bringing to Canada.

I’m already in Canada so I’m technically not bringing any money since all my money is already in my Canadian bank.

It also says that I need to declare any amount above 10000 CAD that I’m bringing into Canada. Currently I have more than that in my bank account.

I’m not sure what I’m supposed to answer. 0 dollars? 9999? Or whatever amount I have even though it’s more than 10000?

Thanks a lot for your help!

If you have a job with LMIA, you don't need to show proof of funds.

In the application form you can just put the amount you have in your Canadian bank.

The 10K CAD doesn't apply here, it's for when you land in Canada and carry that much amount in cash, you need to declare at the border.
