PR Application in progress - Help needed

Hi Guys,

I am working currently in the US on F-1 visa which ends in August end and I am planning to come to Canada on Aug 30th. The thing is that my PR application is still in progress. Below are the details:

Application submitted : June 1,2017
E-AOR : June 2, 2017
Meds Passed : July 14, 2017
Status Update : We are processing your background check : August 16, 2017

My question is : Is it fine for me to go Canada on Visitor Visa and wait there? Since my visa in US is expiring and have to leave from here by this month's end.
Also, I mentioned US as my country of residence at the time of application. Do I need to update the address to CIC of where I will going to stay in Canada. I have my relatives in Toronto...

Depending whether your country of origin is visa exempt you will need a TRV to enter Canada.

I have my visitor visa for Canada. My main question is if I go to Canada from US, Do I need to update CIC of my new address in Canada ?

Yes you will have to update your address. I'm not sure how you plan on moving your stuff but because you are only visiting it can not appear like you are moving.

I am just taking common stuff with me and getting rid of large items in US itself... There will be one or two items which I will leave here and get them shipped once I have the PR hopefully
