Hi,

My wife and I are permanent residents of Canada and have moved back to Canada in Feb. We became permanent in 2010. Our daughter was born outside Canada and we have brought her with us on Temporary Residence Permit(TRP).

I am going to apply for my daughters PR and have filled the application forms. I have selected the application package where application(my Daughter) is within Canada.

I have to send the application to "Case Processing Centre, Vegreville, AB" and the fees I have to pay is 150 CAD.

Today I called CIC call center and things suddenly changed. But i think it was because the lady was not ready to listen to me and just wanted to send an email.

She has send me a application package as "the applicant is outside Canada" and I have to send the application to Mississauga. She has also told the application fee as 150 CAD.

So could you please confirm, if the CIC website is correct or the call center?

1. There is no "in Canada" processing for dependent children at Vegreville.
2. If the child was admitted for 1 year on the TRP, then you apply through Mississauga and select Buffalo as the processing office.
3. If the child was admitted for less than 1 year, then you have to select the office that process applications for her country of citizenship.
4. The Call centre is correct. You were mis-reading the CIC web site. For in-Canada it says Spouses or Common-law partner. If you were sponsoring your spouse in Canada, then the child could have been included.

Thanks for your reply.

On the website it says "If your spouse, partner or accompanying dependent child lives with you in Canada, use the Application for Permanent Residence in Canada—Spouse or Common-law Partner.

What do they mean by this? what dependent child do they mean here?

"accompanying dependent child" the child is not accompanying a sponsored spouse or common/law spouse. Just follow the instructions in the links.

Hi,

Thanks for clearing the confusion. I have gone through different posts related to similar cases as I have regarding my daughter.

I think I should apply for my daughters PR on H&C grounds.

On different posts, only successful applications with in Canada were made on H&C grounds.

What do you suggest regarding this?
