PR application for a spouse: Is IELTS needed?

The application form imm0008 is asking me to provide language details. It is asking:

Have you taken a test from a designated testing agency to assess your proficiency in English or French?

I have done the IELTS before but not all that recently. I am not sure if they are looking for ANY test at ANY time or something recent.

My wife is a Canadian citizen and I am applying for a PR as her spouse. Do I even need to take an IELTS exam again?

But the form asks me that question regardless. Since I did sit for the IELTS twice in the past, should I say Yes? The form isn't telling me how old my test results can be.

You write yes, you took a test. That's it. Doesn't matter how old or the results.

Remember, some of the information they collect for background, some just for statistical. Don't overthink it.
