Hi guys,

I've done my medicals six months ago and expecting to get PPR soon. I am currently residing in Canada. For those who were residing in Canada when they got the PPR and gone through this process, could you advise me please on the best way to send the passport to LA office. The problem is that they are saying that:

Persons currently residing in Canada with applications in our office must not submit a return mail envelope.
We are only able to return passport(s) and documents to Canadian addresses by regular mail (US Postal Service First Class Mail).
Please note that the visa office in Los Angeles will not return your documents using any courier services.

Is receiving by regular mail reliable?

Oh well, I only have 3 weeks before December 4th, otherwise I loose my money on my tickets to India. But I am glad that finally PR is happening.

I'm still waiting for my passport. It seems like another week has gone with any news. But let's see next week! I just hope this month doesn't go without giving us our passports back.
But as Ann just mentioned if you are in Canada we are not allowed to send any express return envelope. So I guess they are going to send it by snail mail. So I guess mine is going to take a little longer.

Hi Miranda, my MP told me the passports were posted 2 November, urs and mine I believe are in same batch
I am predicting we will have it nt week, even with snail mail

Hi guyz. need to ask? My passport recieved at LA VO last October 19. How long will it take to send back my passport? weeks? months? anyone knows the approx days? my friend recieved his PP 10 days after the visa stamp but its from detroit VO, and the other one got it 3 weeks from the seattle VO. any idea????thanks....

The officers at LA office told me 4 weeks and they sent mine out in exactly 4 weeks. In my case, visa stamp was put on one day before they sent it out. It took two days to arrive via USPS express mail (exceeded the guaranteed time).
