How much time they gave you to do landing?

Hi all, for those who are waiting for their passport back it will take 12 days to received from the time it was sent. Got my passport back oct. 24. Sent by Los Angeles visa office last oct. 12. Hope this will ease you up. I know how it feels to wait an important document that could change your life. I hope this is helpful enough thank you. Rone

According to my consultant it is no longer allowed (he said he emailed LA) I noticed that LA use to state it on the letter and no longer does. In addition they underlined the word "By mail" giving it additional emphasis.

You can try emailing LA and see what they reply. I never did.

I have send my passport to renew,but i got passport request today,it take 2-3 month to get it.AT same time i have made temporary 1 year passport.So can i send temporary passport to get visa or ask LA office about my situation if they can extend 15-20 days to send new original passport.Please help me what do i need to do?

There shouldn't be a problem on stamping a visa on a passport that is still valid (even if it is a temporary extension)

pp arrived: September 18, 2012

pp stamped: October 5, 2012

decision made in ECAS: October 9, 2012

pp sent by La Office: October 12, 2012

pp received thru US postal first class air mail: October 24, 2012

Immigrant visa expiration: May 20, 2013

Why dont you send them an email to see if they allow in person stamping?
Also as an alternative, for example I am traveling Dec 17. I sent them a cover letter kindly requesting to try to send back my passport before that. I also included a copy of my plane ticket and the vacation request form from my employer
