PR Application Files Transferred from Buffalo ----> Los Angeles VO from Sep 2011

Hello All,
Finally i received my passport back with COPR.It took almost 24 days for passport turnaround.I am planning to do" flag pooling" tomorrow from the Emerson Boarder of Manitoba. It is just 2 hours drive from my place. I am already in Canada. There was option you could to port of entry within canada who has temporary resident visa but it takes almost 4-6 weeks for an appointment. So , I am planning down the south. Could anyone who were passed through this port of entry, share some experiences about this boarder? I am planning to carry all documents with me. Could anyone tell me what precautions should i take while crossing the boarder?
Thanks a lot for your help and especially for Beast maintaining tracker sheet. It was highly useful for estimation for MR, PPR etc. Hopefully you will receive MR soon.

Finally got my MR last thursday . There's no other documents asked from me.. I had my medical yesterday and monday i'll do the xray and laboratory.. Luckily I got an appointment right away. Hope everything alright with you.

I hope you get your medicals this week so that you can make an appointment right away. I think you still have enough time to get them done. You can always ask for an extension, it was their mistake to send the forms to your old adress anyway. And if they just ask for the medicals then you are just one step to get your PPR. And you are right, the long wait is over.

Hello Marnest! Good to know that everything is doing good. I would think 7 days will be good enough for them to send you your new med request. For me, it was sent on the 2nd of May and I received it 7th. As soon as you receive the request, book it to a doctor duly responsible for medicals coz it really is hard to find schedule. In my case, one applicant backed out on that day so they gave me his slot. Otherwise, I have to wait for another month before being scheduled. This is it! Our time has come...continue to cross your fingers and pray to God!

Hi seniors. My file is with LA also and after two years they asked for additional docs which is the bank statement. My question is, is this the only add docs that they would ask from here on til medical or would they ask add docs later on? Thank u.

I'm glad to know that you got your MR and the best of all is that you got your appointment that soon! Now you just have to wait for your passport request, the hardest part is over.

Thanks a lot friends. I have completed my port of landing procedure yesterday from the Emerson boarder(Manitoba/North Dakota). It went very smooth and hardly took 15 minutes to complete. They did not ask any documents( The reason might be i am already in Canada more than three years and i have two Canadian kids and they might have thought we already settled in Canada). After signing COPR in front of Immigration officer, they congratulated us for becoming PR and gave us Four Canadian flags for my family.I gave them my mailing address and they said it will be mailed within 6-8 weeks. Then,they directed us to Custom section to fill B4 forms.I did not have any goods. So I did not have to fill B4 forms( goods to follow).
Thanks a lot friends for your help and good luck for those who are in phase of MR , PPR.

Hello Ferd,
I think you are just 9 miles away from US boarder. For you it hardly takes 20-30 minutes. i think Winkler is nearer for you than Emerson. Just check timings of Winkler port because the immigration services close from 12am to 8am.
