Hi all,

Hope you are doing great. I was away from the forum for sometime as I was busy. I am planning to complete my landing in Calgary shortly. I have received so much help from this forum. If any of the forum members is located in Calgary, can you enlighten me about the odd jobs (i.e., survival jobs) available there and how I should approach. I am aware that getting a job in my profession may take a bit of time considering I am moving from a different country. So I am thinking about starting with something that would at least get my life started there. Any suggestions? Ideas? Thanks for help.

Bonny

Hi Bonny

i'm in Calgary working in oilfield company, don't worry about finding job in calgary , here in calgary there are alot of jobs to start your life here , the immigrants here when they first arrive to calgary they start working in stores like (walmart , future shop ) for temporary jobs, later and after you get familiar with life here you can start to find better work , so dont worry about finding job here

Hi nawarhaddad,

Thanks for replying. Your response definitely assures me. I worry a little because I have read that all Canadian employers want "Canadian experience." I have read that they ask for Canadian experience even in odd jobs like the ones you have mentioned. Anyway, it may not be all true as I understand.

Can I send you an email to ask a few questions? If so, please let me know your address.

Thanks much again.

Bonny

Dear seniors, pls help or advice. My application in bufalo was transfered to LA two weeks ago. I applied may 2010 and was just two weeks ago that they transfered my application to LA. In my ecas it ses there pending for review even if it was with bufgalo for more than a yr. Now chcked my ecas and says that LA recieved application and is still pending for review. Does it mean all this time all they did was transfer my application from one VO to another and thry havent opened it yet? Did you experience this when your fules were transfered to LA? Help pls. Ty and more power.

Hi,

My file stayed in Buffalo for 6 months before transferring to L.A., and it took 7 months for L.A. to start processing. So don't worry, your file is just in queue, and I believe its transfer will facilitate its processing.

Good luck :)

Hi,

My eCas still shows 'In Process' till now. Other forumers shared before that the cic updated their eCas from 'In Process' to 'Decision Made' after they landed and completed their immigration process. So it's not a thing to worry about.. :D

You will be receiving your PPR soon..Good luck :D

Hello All,
I am avid follower of this forum. My file was transferred on Dec 1 from buffalo to LA. I got MR on march 12 and MR done on March 25 and my DMP sent the file to ottawa the same day. I have been waiting one line on ecas stat i.e. medical results recieved. But it has been almost 4 weeks they have not updated my ecas.Does anayone have idea how long should i wait for PPR ? I am just wondering why ottawa has taken so much time to recieve the results. Shall i get PPR on end of May or not?
I am following NewtounA and has not been updated anything from him also. Please advise. Thanks

As of last Friday, LA has yet to receive results of my medicals from Ottawa.

My medical was done on April 24th. Now waiting to see if all went well and for a tracking number for when they send it to Ottawa.

Hi NewtonUA,
Congrats for getting PPR! But quick question to you, does your ecas status show medical received? Please specify the date sothat i will have idea about my date for PPR?
thanks

Hi Rod,
I talked to the immigration lawyer and he said processing times are taking longer and longer. He said it's going to take at least 4 to 12 months for me to get PPR. But I guess that's what happen when you trust your PRR process to immigration lawyers. I don't know what to think now. I guess I have to wait longer!
