I still see the line "Your file is pending review" It never changed to we started processing your application and I see Decision Made. Spoke to the immigration agency through which we filed our PR application, she says DM is sometimes rejection, sometimes it is because they have sent MR or they need any more documents. She asked me to wait for 3-4 days as they will get any communication from LA office in 3-4 business days. Really speaking I am not convinced with her reply. Really disheartened, just having 1 hope that since I never saw the line "we started processing your application...." may be it's a technical issue.......

Praying that it works out fine though doesn't feel it will be........

Writing this to find out if anyone whose file transferred before or to be specific on 1st dec 2011, is seeing the line "we started processing your appl...." or are they still seeing "pending review ..." line?

Sanjay:

Sorry to hear this...I think you should wait a couple of days as your agent suggested. I am sure either way LA should contact you soon. I can totally imagine how you are feeling. In my case, after pending review, they started processing, and then I got medicals.

Sanjay,

From the last posts of one of the applicants who got DM it seems he did get the line. However, the two applicants who got DM disappeared from the forum and I sent a PM a while back to get reasons for DM and they never replied. Please share when you get any further info. I think it might take more than 3-4 business days for you to get any further information (it should be 2-4 weeks from what I have seen).

Best of luck again,
Rod

Hi Rod and Bonny,

Thanks so much for your replies, really appreciate you taking time to respond me. Also thanks Rod for posting the other 2 DM's, really appreciate your effort.

Yep I am waiting now, if this doesn't work out we will try our luck again for US, both approval and stamping for US visa is so tough these days, well can't do much as these things are not in our control, we can just hope for the best. May be this is what God has planned for us.

Don't know where the issue is, well whenever I get to know any update I will keep you all posted.

thanks for your wishes.

Hi Kia123,

I got PRR today! It is said in that letter, " Your passport(s) will be returned by courier envelope ONLY when you have pre-paid the courier company for the return service and enclose a completed shipping label."

How do you send your passport to LA?
I remember someone mentioned it is better to send it through UPS, not Fedex? Where did you buy the pre-paid envelope? Do you write your address on the envelope or you simple put an address lable into the envelope?

Thank you!

I sent mine via UPS and it worked just fine. Fill out your return address on the prepaid envelope.
My local UPS store let me pay for both the outbound and return shipping which is a requirement stated by LA visa office.
Anything other than a prepaid envelope will not be used so please don't use a UPS account number or use your credit card details for billing etc. People have made this mistake in the past.

As promised, here is my experience in Visa Stamping experience at LA VO. The trip was a little expensive (airfare, car rental, hotel room, etc) but it was well worth the peace of mind as I need to make a trip overseas. I flew in the day before the appointment.

Rental Car: I had booked a car on Orbitz (got one for $22/day from Budget, a pretty good deal)

Hotel Room: Stayed at Hollywood Inn Express South ($45/day on Kayak). Was convenient as it was 2.3 miles from the Consulate.

Parking: There are numerous parking garages close by. There is a parking garage just across the street where you can park for $10/day and one in the very next building and if you don't mind walking a few blocks, there are a lot more which are cheaper.

Document submission: I was there at 8.30am and was about the fourth or so in line. Security is strict and they are very particular about the no-cell phone policy so please do switch it off or leave your phone at home. It was such a welcome surprise to be at a consulate office where everyone seemed happy to be there. I waited about five minutes before my turn and went to the window.
The gentleman at the window requested my documents:
1. Approval letter/Passport request letter (printout of email from VO)
2. Passport
3. Two Photographs (make sure you have them to specifications, I went to three photographers (CVS/Walgreens/a local photo-studio and got sub-par pictures). I finally found a photographer in Austin, TX who takes pictures specifically for Canadian Immigration/Visa on a routine basis.
4. RPRF (money order from my bank)
5. Completed Height/Eye color form.
He checked my documents, then went back to get my file and took a few minutes as he went through it. He then gave me a token and asked me to come back at 2.30pm to pick up my passport. I think he could sense how relieved I was; he smiled and said Congratulations.
I walked around for a while, saw the LA Symphony building, went window shopping and had brunch at a nice little French crepe place on 6th street which also gave me a chance to practice my French with the owner. Did some touristy window-shopping/sightseeing till about 2pm.

Passport pickup: I got there at 2.30pm and was second or third in line. Went through security and up to the counter when it was my turn, the lady gave me my passport and envelope with the COPR (photograph affixed) and other instructions, she said Congratulations as she handed them to me.

I took a long time to go over my paperwork to make sure there were no typos, misspellings, etc. The security officer was very understanding and asked me to take my time as I went over my documents. As I was leaving, he wished me the very best for my life in Canada. I was very obvious how very detail- oriented yet very pleasant everyone at the office was. I went back to my hotel room and literally jumped for joy. Thank you Lord.

Hope this helps anyone planning on a trip to LA.
