Hi,

I'd be very grateful for some advice. I am in the process of filling out my permanent residence application and have the following questions - Can anybody help?

1. Under the Personal History section, the instruction is not to leave any gaps in time. I have been working for the past ten years, except in 2015, when I was mainly traveling abroad, to numerous countries. Would it be acceptable for this section to say that from Feb 2015 to Dec 2015, I was unemployed, and state that my activity was foreign travel for leisure purposes? The only thing is, I am asked to state which country I was based in - my permanent address was England - but I wasn't actually there as I was traveling. It's as though the form isn't designed for somebody who has spent some time traveling abroad. The alternative would be to put all of the individual countries I visited in one by one, but this would duplicate the next section where I have to describe which countries I have been to in the past ten years. And would take ages.

2. In the education section, I only put down my higher education in the Express Entry application and got a high score for this at that stage. Is it ok to just use this again, or do I have to include my high school stuff as well? My WES verification only covers my higher education.

Many thanks

Rob

For the address history i would put your address in England for that time you were travelling , but i would put in personal history the countries you have been as well as in travel history. it's my opinion and what we did even though we travelled a lot, took ages but that's the way it is.

2. In the education section, I only put down my higher education in the Express Entry application and got a high score for this at that stage. Is it ok to just use this again, or do I have to include my high school stuff as well? My WES verification only covers my higher education.

for education history we put high school as well and everything after that but i think you can just put you higher education which you claim points for

Many thanks

Thanks for responding guys.

Although you have both answered in a way that reflects my two ways of thinking on this. Shame this sort of thing isn't more clear. Is there any way of contacting the immigration service?

It seems to me that if I go on holiday somewhere for two weeks, my address is still my home base in England, and that's where I'm permanently based. So if I go on a longer trip, for ten months, it's still a holiday and I've never been permanently based in any of the countries visited. Only a tourist in each case. So I am based in England still as an unemployed person, but traveling abroad.

Hmmm...

Also, in terms of travel history, am I expected to enter all of the EU countries I've been to? I've been over to the continent on countless occasions and you don't get any stamp in your passport. ARGH. This is the first time I've ever regretted being a well traveled person.

Hi Rob,

I am in same boat regarding personal history section and wondering what you decided to do? did you put landing country and explain in LOE or create a seperate entry for each country.
