I found another interesting fact... According to this CBSA page "The CBSA holds the passports and travel/identity documents of asylum claimants in accordance with the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and retains them until the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada makes a determination on the claim." So, does that mean you can get your passport after you found as a protected person? If so, why do they wait until people get their PRs...?

Guys, it is not easy, can you please stop advising people getting back their passports? What are you going to do? It is taken for a reason. Your refugee status can be removed unless you become a citizen. Read this article from CCR. It clearly mentions going back to the country you fled from or using its passport put you risk of losing your refugee status. You want your passport to get service in your country's embassy? It is possible for them to arrest you there, you are not safe in embassies. There could be an arrest issue recorded on your passport which means you may get arrested and send back to your country. Please, it is not safe and it risks both your life and your status. There is a reason for them to seize it, and it is done everywhere in the world. EU? They issue travel documents like Canada, indeed most UNHCR member countries issue a similar document. Please stop misinforming people.

thank you for your frank advise, but as i mentioned in my question, im not planing to go back to the fucking country i already fled.i wont do it for the rest of my life, and i am totally aware of the consequences of doing so, specially about the residential withdraw in case of going back, the reason is i just wanna go to turkey without getting turkey visa since i dont need a visa with my back home country's passport. but i again appreciate your concern

Using your passport is troublesome too. I'm from Turkey, I fled from Turkey and I know that my country turns people to the country they escaped from. Almost every middle east country do the same. I know people had been detained and sent back to Turkey from this region. If by any chance you have a search warrant I wouldn't advise using it, and even if you don't, "Travel using the passport of your home country." may cause you to lose your refugee status(I don't know how applicable in reality though).

It is a risk if you use your passport there a high risk that your pr will be revoke.

Based on my friends who got prs before the pandemic, IRCC returned their home country passports, and few of them traveled using them and came back with no problem but it is strictly banned to travel to home country with it. That is it!

Yes, personally I know a woman who used her passport after she returned she received a call from IRCC asking about that at the end of the call they told her your pr have been revoke and their is investigation on this matter. So be carefully.

Hi everyone, can anyone explain that if GCKey/Status of Application account is updated with mailing address by itself because a week ago only residential address was showing but now the mailing address is also showing which is same as residential? Time Line is December 19. Thanks.
