Hello!

I’m currently on a post-graduate work permit and recently found that that I’m pregnant. I’m going to start my PR application on January since it’s been almost one year that I have been working full time.

Is being pregnant going to affect my PR application processes? If so, in what ways?

Is there a possibility that my application can be denied, even completing all of the criteria for PR?

It's not going to affect your application per se, but you'll need to take X-Rays and that's not good for the baby. You can either have the baby "shielded" from the X-Rays or you can wait until you deliver your baby.

For the IRCC it won't change anything. My wife was pregnant and gave birth all while the PR application, we're still waiting for the final decision and our baby is almost 2 months old.

Her medical exams were done before the pregnancy, tough.

Hi ,

I am working in TCS with work permit.
I am pregnant and also I have applied for pr and biometrics completed recently.
I would like to know if my employer would allow me to stay in Canada or would cancel my work permit?
Can anyone help me with this.

Can you clarify what TCS means.

They can't cancel your work permit but depending on how long you have worked in Canada you may or may not qualify for maternity EI payments. They are also just a fraction of your normal pay. How long do you have left on your WP?
