from what I see it sounds like that SS for Iranian whom applied in 2018 is somewhere bett

Hi mate. listen, S.15 usually applies to applicant who has a dependent on their application. for instance my spouse is my dependent on my application. wherever in the notes, the activities are about her ( such as criminality , client details etc ) its been redacted & s.15 on the top right corner. thats because I am requesting notes on my behalf and cic can not share any other parties info with me. so they refer s.15 as they can not disclose my spouse or any other individual's info on my file.

if you are the only applicant on your file. you wont see s.15.
Hi , thanks for sharing this. As a matter of fact I have dependant but we both filled the GCMS and the data for both of us are included. So that is why I do not see redacted or s.15 or the same. What do you think about due date for my security? Is that started?

1- in your online cic account , whats the status of your background ?

2- when the gcms notes has been generated ? look at the bottom of the page 1.

3- on page 2 , under assessment , what the status of security ?

4- on admissibility section , usually the first one is security , any activity or sub activity ? if yes , do you see any dates or activity info ?

The due date for applicatio

The due date on first date is very different from this one, first page is 2018/08 but this is 2019/04 and this is the due date for security! And please note my Eligibilty recommend passed on 2018/05! So confusing ....

Salam @soheilhs and @canadalover2018,
I hope you are all doing well.
Actually I need to correct you guys. s.15 is related to section 15 of the Access To Information (ATI) and is related to the reasons why the officer cannot release all your information through notes. There are several other similar sections as well, like s.19, s.21, s.26 etc.
Using these sections, CIC won't release any information that might have a negative influence on Canadian relationship with other countries (which is the case for SS). So, anyone who is under SS, can see these sections all over their GCMS notes. Another reason is about the dependent. If you don't provide a consent form from your dependent, cic won't release any info either. However, as far as I can remember, section 19 is related to that.

Anyways, you have to look which section gets redacted. If the admissibility is redacted (i.e., sometimes you can see a couple of pages of blank), that is definitely the sign of SS. For SS, the status is also missing, not "Not Started". @canadalover2018, you are not under SS.

Really getting confused! Ok I am not under SS! But what about the Security check? You mean has not started yet? Really after 1 year? Just may start it in few months and then go to SS and wait maybe one more year?

About the due dates. Usually there is a main officer who works on your file. However, he doesn't do everything by himself. The security and criminality will be performed by a lot of other groups and counter-parts. The main officer uses their recommendation to make the final decision.
The due date on the file (assessment section) is the due date the officer gets a reminder to review the file. In your case, in that date you were review required. So, the officer didn't do anything. Now, you have to wait until s/he starts working on your file.
The due date for the security is the due date for the person who is responsible for the security to work on it. They may send the results to the main officer today.

Not everyone will go through several month of SS. For you it might be the regular security check. And it hasn't started is not a bad thing. As soon as the regular security starts, it will not take more than a couple of hours to finish.

Hi @Mr_nobody @canadalover2018 .

Sorry It was spelling error. I meant S.19 refers to other individuals/dependant personal information that cic can not disclose it in your notes so you will see s19 in the top right corner unless the other individuals filled the consent form.

and s15 refers to some action they have done ( usually in security or criminality section ) and they redact it and show s.15(1) on the top right corner of that page.

however , if you request notes from CBSA , they usually don't redact the actions made under security & criminality .

Salam,
Agree wit your comment. Since he doesn't have any redaction with s.15 or anything similar, I told him he doesn't need to apply for CBSA notes as it does not give him any more info
