Hi, I am currently working under the care giver live-in program. I applied to renew my working permit more than a month ago, which expires today (May 31) My question: Can I send my applications for OWP and PR if I haven't received my new WP yet?
I'd appreciate any help on this matter. Thank you everyone! ;)

You need to wait for your new work permit before you apply pr.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/live-in.asp

This application is for persons who wish to apply for permanent residence in Canada and have been working in Canada under the Live-in Caregiver Program for at least 24 months or a total of 3,900 hours within four years of their arrival in Canada. The applicant must currently hold a valid Work Permit to work in a home providing live-in care for children, seniors or the disabled.

i agree with wsongco...but it will help as well if you call cic at 1-888-242-2100 to verify the status of your application...i have a friend who has the same case as you...instead of receiving an extended work permit, cic gave her open work permit! so she didn't have to apply for an open work permit along with her pr application...she saved $150! lucky her...c",)

Thank you, for your answers, I called yesterday and somebody told me to send the papers in with a letter explaining that my new WP was being processed, but I think I'd rather wait, because I know by experience that the people who answer the phones in immigration some times give you the wrong info or suggestions.

Thanks again! :)
