PR after medical expired?

Did anyone get PR after their medical had expired and if so how long did you have to enter? Or is it impossible to enter without a valid medical (one with a year expiry)

depends upon officer... Sometimes they extend.. sometimes they ask for new medicals

But either way and in both cases it will give me an extra year right?
