How long after landing do we receive PR?

Can we leave canada before receiving the PR?
 
You can check on their website, these days they take around 6 to 8 weeks.

Yes, you can leave Canada by mentioning an address of any relative on PR card application.

Thanks a million for your reply, if i may ask.. How do i return to canada without the PR? I thought i should show it at the airport when i come back..

Thanks a million for your reply, if i may ask.. How do i return to canada without the PR? I thought i should show it at the airport when i come back..

If you are non-visa exempt and don't have your PR card yet, you will need to obtain a Travel Document to return.

Could u please explian to me, how do we obrain it and where from?
 
If you left Canada without PR Card, then there are two options:

1- Let the PR card deliver to your relative's residence and then arrange to get PR card at your location of residence (either through courier services, or through any relative who is traveling to your country)
2- If you wanna travel without PR card, contact with your VO, and as the Scylla said, arrange Travel Document by stating your situation to VO. They'll charge a nominal fees and give you travel document through which you can enter into Canad without PR Card.

But when do i contact my visa office? Before or after landing?

And if i go with option number one, will i go through trouble when entering ?

Even I need an answer to the above question.
 
You can only obtain a Travel Document once you are outside of Canada. You will have to become a PR by landing in Canada and then leave Canada. Once once you have left Canada after becoming a PR and are outside of Canada will you be able to apply for a Travel Document. This isn't something you can obtain in advance.

Can't you apply for the travel document inside canada before leaving?

I have already answered your second question. No - you cannot obtain the travel document inside of Canada before leaving. You can only obtain it from outside of Canada. Instructions are here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/travel.asp
