Hi,
My wife came to Canada on visitor visa and while in Canada she got her PPR from NDVO office.
According to instructions in email from NDVO I have submitted her passport on 4th july (passport reached to Ottawa office on 4th July).
Today is 16th july and I am still waiting for updates.
I have the tracking number of return envelope but after searching on Canadapost site it shows "Unfortunately, the number you entered is not in our tracking system."

May I know what is the general processing time for these type of situation ? I mean how much time it takes place ?

Thanks in advance.

Any inputs people ?

when did you receive return tracking email?

if it is today, wait for couple of hours or till the end of the day.

Even though IRCC initiate tracking canada post has to process it.

call the postal company -- looks like their issue

I have NOT received return tracking email. that's the concern. It's been more than 15 days I have sent the passport to Ottawa office. It was delivered on 4th of July.

Hi, I am in the similar situation of you. I am on TRV got PPR on 10 July, awaiting for PP from CPC-Ottawa. I have question for you, did you sent a self-addressed envelop along with your wife's PP?

Yes I did. the return tracking envelope means the self-addressed tracking number itself.

I will give it a try for sure. But I think it is more of CIC issue than CanadaPost. Thanks for the reply.

20 days and still waiting :(

Hi. I hope you have received your wife's passport back? Just have a few questions as we may be in a similar situation.

PA (outland spousal) is planning to come on TRV during the Christmas holidays, around which time we may also get PPR (based on average timelines). If the PPR does come from local VO while PA is visiting Canada, do I understand it correctly that we have the option to send his passport to Ottawa instead of the local VO? Will they stamp it in Ottawa, or are they sending the passport back to local VO? Appreciate your feedback.

Dear Members (yogimukti, ilan_k & clutsyclutter): I have a query. How have you guys have managed to get TRV (as a spouse)? I have heard rejection rate of TRV for spouse (of a PR) is really high. I myself is a PR and want to apply TRV for my wife, any suggestions how should I go about it?

Thanks in advance.

We established significant ties back home. My husband is currently pursuing full time studies there until Jun 2018. We applied for TRV for Christmas holidays saying that we miss each other, we won't be jeopardizing his PR application by overstaying, and that he has enough reasons to go back (school, business). We included proofs like enrollment certificate, business registration, and roundtrip booking with a travel agency.

Take advantage of the invitation and explanation letters to make your case. Good luck!

Yes you can submit your spouse's passport to Ottawa office. Even the PPR email has clear directions in case if PA is in Canada at that time.

Well it varies from case to case. ( I know this is very cliche statement but it is true). I have published a post on Canadavisa forum.
Please visit and see if it addresses your concern. Feel free to shoot any questions/queries you have.
