Hello! We got our passport request (PPR) today and we are excited/anxious. For those of you who have already done this, what gets stamped in the passport? Does it just indicate that you can travel to Canada or does it say something to the effect that you have a Canadian permanent resident visa? Please let me know.

It is just like a regular Canadian visitor visa but with "Immigrant" written on it. Nothing special. The COPR is what's important.

Just a Canada Visa, specifying the immigrant category.

Along with it, you will receive a Confirmation of Permanent Residence (CoPR). One for each of you.

Thank you so much. A few more questions from you helpful folks!
  1. When does the PR actually start? Does it start we do a soft landing or when we receive the CoPR in mail?
  2. Also, when should we do the soft landing? I've been reading that within 1 year of the medical exam that we did for express entry. Is this correct?
Thanks again to the friendly community.

1. Landing
2.You need to land no later than the date mentioned in your CoPR. There is a "Expiry date". It's usually 1 year after Medicals. If you fail to land by that date, well...
