Hello Everyone,

I have applied for my EE application from US. I plan to travel to India soon. If my PPR come while I am leaving for India or I am already in India, can I send my passport to the Canadian consulate in India since the PPR is only valid for 30 days?

Please share your expert advice.

You can ask them if they would let you do that or you can ask them for an extension to submit your passport. Usually they give you an extension of 30-60 days based on your circumstances.

I think to remove any complications ask for extension if you think you can come back to US in time and ship the passport to them. If you don't want to wait then you can request the change of Visa office (India) but keep the processing time in mind of that office. You can be without passport for many days and won't be able to travel internationally till you get it back.

Thanks at least now I know that both the options are available. Based on the time of sending the passport and my location I will send to the local agency.

Don't worry, In the PPR, they clearly mentioned that if you do not have a mailing address in Canada or USA, or if you are unable to submit the passport, send email to us(cpc...)so that we can send you instructions for submitting your documents to visa office which is most convenient for you...

In your case, after PPR , send them an email regarding your status and you should most probably be able to send the passports to New Delhi consulate.

Hello all,

I have recieved ppr on 26 september.
I came back to pakistan as i lost my job in uae. They have request to submit passport within 30 days by giving three options giving preference to abu dhabi VAC. But i came back to pak and submit my passport and my 2 dependent passports in pakistan. I did not update ircc as my consultant said no need to update as its an online system.

Hope he is right. Please advise if its oj or anyone has done like this?
