Hi,

From the visa exempt country it says a photocopy of the passport is OK but does not specify- photocopies of EVERY page or just the photo page? Anyone?

every page!!
no. if the PPR doesn't specify, the it is ONLY the BIO page. if the visa office wants every page of a passport, it will specify so in the request. it is specific to visa office and where the applicant is from.

where is the applicant from? generally, it's ONLY the bio page, otherwise the request would specify. it is to confirm pp#, name and validity date.

I mean how long for passport request after all documents are submitted after successful appeal. Because they haven't requested passport yet. And I was just wondering when they will request it after submitting all required documents. Thanks

It depends if you are from a visa-exempt country. In a visa-exempt country, they don't need your passport to put a visa in it so at the most they'll request a copy of the biometric page of the passport. But more than likely they won't request one at all. I'm from the US, which is visa exempt and I never got a PPR.

Hey,

So they did ask for a copy of the biometric page of my husband's passport. He is from Sri Lanka, do you think he's exempt from providing a passport. Thanks

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/visas-all.asp#exemptions
What I saw here, Sri Lanka requires a visa to enter Canada so they may be double checking his citizenship and they likely will need to put a visa in his passport. However, a more experienced member may be able to clarify as US is visa exempt so I never had to send my passport in.

This is all it says:

2. The original passport(s), or a photocopy of the passport(s) if you are from a visa exempt country. To find out if you are from a visa exempt country, please consult the following website: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/visas.asp

So thats photo page only??

Actually, you should be sending in a photocopy of ALL of your passport, even the empty pages. They will also want to check travel stamps against any that you have/have not claimed. Sometimes; as in RhCohens case; this is overlooked but generally speaking, you should provide a photocopy of your entire passport. Otherwise, you might slow the process down at a later date if they have to ask you to submit your pages as well.
