Hello everyone, I'm yet to submit my Application after receiving ITA. The challenge I'm having is thus; in my country, credit cards are not used. I have debit card only. Will CIC accept the debit card as a means of payment? Because it is started on the website that credit cards should be used for payment. Please someone with first hand information should respond as my deadline to submit the application is fast approaching. Thanx

Anyone with useful information or who has used a debit card in paying the PPR fees. Please reply. Thank you.

Debit cards work just fine, as long as they use Visa, Mastercard, or Discover- just call your bank ahead of time and ensure that your card is set up for international transactions. Most banks in smaller countries usually restrict international transactions on cards, and sometimes even block those cards if there is a sudden big transaction in a foreign currency.

Had paid via debit card. Transaction was done within 2 seconds.

Hello, is it that when getting the ITA, only "Permanent Resident Application Fee" is required? For the "Right Of Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF)", it is paid later?

Hi,
the 'Permanent Residency Application Fee' is compulsory during submitting your ePR application (part of the process). You can also pay the RPRF at the same time but this is up to your decision. You can wait till CIC will ask for it. Some applicants are paying RPRF in advance in order to speed up the PR processing time.
