PPR for US born son of Indian passport holding parents

Folks,
I have a question about submitting passports once we get the PPR. My son is a US citizen, where as my wife and I are Indian citizens. We received the PPR yesterday and are in the process of sending the passports. For me and my wife we plan to submit passports as we fall in the category of country that requires to send the passport. For my son, who has US passport, as per the guidelines, we are required to submit the photo page of passport only and NOT actual passport. Have any of you done the same for your child, or did you submit the Passport as well?

As a US citizen you do not have to send your son's passport. Here is why, as an Indian citizen you would require a visa to travel to Canada thus they ask for your passport. When you get back your passport you will notice a visa for single entry (for your first visit after PPR) and COPR. COPR is a document mentioning your PR process and is not a travel document, but Visa stamped is your travel document. As a US Citizen there is no need for Visa for your kid so all they need is a copy of the passport to confirm his identity and issue him COPR.

Thus you should only send your and your wife's passport and photocopy of your sons passport. You will receive 2 visa stamps and 6 COPR's (2 copies for each of you)

I am in similar situation. Do i need to send pics of my baby or that too is not required?

Yes actually in the request letter itself they have mentioned that 2 photos are required for self and each accompanying family member.
Also, COPR will have photos of every member on the application.
I sent everything today. lets see

I did a blunder. I sent my daughter US original passport as well which I realised just today. Me and My wife both are from a country which needs visa hence I went with the flow and submitted daughter' (US citizen) passport as well. Just keeping my fingers crossed that this will not have any negative impact.

Would you please share how CIC acted in your situation? Did they just give your daughter a COPR and returned her passport?

How long it took to send her paspsort back.
What is the process actually.
we had COPR but again submitted status as we added my daughter.
Our medical is expiring tomorrow and we havent heard back.
once they approve they ask for her passport?
did you did medical again?
