Hi everyone, I'd really, really appreciate it if someone could help me out here.

I am an Indian citizen who applied for PR when I was in India on break. The address submitted on file was my Indian home address. I'm back in the US now (where I work and live). As soon as I got back to the US, I updated my address to the US address with CIC. I got a response to my webform that the address change was successful. I also called CIC to re-confirm the address change and the agent assured me that the address on file was my US address.

I just received an email for passport submission. But the submission is through VFS New Delhi or VFS Nepal. I'm not sure what to do? I'm planning to email CIC as that's the only way, but will this hurt my application? Has anyone been in this situation before?

Thank you in advance.

Send them another webform and call CIC again to remind them to re-send your PPR as a US resident

Hey thanks for weighing in. I called CIC and they said there was no way for an agent to make any changes and that I had to email the VO directly. It's been a couple of days since my email to Ottawa, but nothing yet. I've heard they take upto 10 days to respond to emails!! Keeping fingers crossed that the turnaround after that gives me enough time to send my passport and make the 30 day deadline.

If anyone has other suggestions or has been in a similar situation, I'd like to hear your thoughts too.

I thought I'd update this thread with how things worked out for me in case anyone's in the same situation in the future.

-- After I received my PPR email, I emailed the VO. Subject included application number, UCI and other identifying details. Your PPR email should have your primary VO listed at the top, so make sure you email the right one. CIC won't respond if you contact the wrong VO.
-- On day 10 after sending the email, I got an automated email about a message on my CIC profile. Logged in to find a new message titled "information letter" with a PDF document. The letter's contents were the same as the initial PPR email, but with new instructions to submit my passport from my current country of residence i.e the US
-- My passport submission deadline was extended by 10 days i.e. new deadline was 30 days from when I received the updated PPR letter.

Calling the CIC agent or sending webforms didn't help because the agents can't view or update the application. Updated instructions for address change can only come from the primary visa office. Try to be patient, and you hear back within 10-15 days with a resolution.
