In same page it says:
"Medical certificates for applicants who pass a medical examination in or outside Canada are valid for twelve months from the date of the last medical assessment of an applicant’s file by a medical officer and/or delegated staff. "
I'm confused. Which one is correct?
12 months since the results were reviewed. Not the date of taking of the exam. My meds were reviewed in November 2019 (meaning I passed the medical exam). Then in June 2020 it was reviewed again which was an extension of medial exam which is now valid until June 2021. That was the way IRCC extended my meds.

Hi Guys,

Had a question -

AOR - October 2019. Review of medical results - October 22nd - you passed the medical exam.

Still waiting for the PPR.

However, in the vague possibility that they send us the PPR right now and we will have to do the landing within a month?

My wife and I live in the US and are not too comfortable traveling right now, so doing this next year would be ideal.

Any ideas how this process works?

Generally, they might extend the validity or request for a re-med. They will not issue a PPR if the meds are expiring in almost a month's time. Wait for IRCC's directions to decide your next course of action..

Thanks for the reply, brother! appreciate it.

Just wondering - whats the worst case scenario here?

Is it possible that they give a deadline of October 22nd and then just refuse to extend the COPR?

I don't think that would be the case. They will be very accommodating as long as the COVID situtaion sustains.

Yeah. Anyway - the way things are going, I am quite certain we wont be receiving our PPR anytime soon.

I guess, if we receive it later on, the medicals automatically gets extended by a year? or they might ask us to take the medicals again. We did not have any health issues though.

Actually, looking at the recent cases it seems that they are asking for a remedical before issuing new pprs.
No. I got PPR on Friday, and my medicals was automatically extended. So they arent requesting for remedicals for every cass

Hello Rob,

I was also asked to re-do medicals a week ago. No PPR yet though. I believe they are doing it to move files forward as much as possible. Once they allow people in they will start sending PPR.
VO Mexico.
It seems there’re outland applicants receiving PPR in the past week and I hope this will be us soon.

They will ensure such a scenario is not realized given the pandemic-related issues everyone is facing. I agree there could be a delay but just ensure you track the application status based on your GCMS notes to ensure you have passed eligibility, background check, and security.

Just FYI - medicals are extended by the visa officer; he/she can extend it or request for re-meds. The system does not automatically extend it.

Hello Everyone,

I'm hearing that the VFS India will open on 1st Oct.

Also that FSW-outland PPRs have started being issued in places where VFS is opening.
Is this true? Or am I hoping for too much?

Thanks in advance for your replies...
