Hi everyone,
I'm hoping someone can give me some advice.
I am Canadian and living abroad with my husband for 15 years.
He just got his PPR through today but we have an issue.
We started reading up about what was needed to apply back in 2016 and got the medical done in Nov last year. In Jan this year the spousal application changed and you were required to apply, wait until cic requested a medical and then get it done. We sent his along anyway with an exploration and it was axcepted.
Fast forward to now and our PPR letter says that his permanent residence documents expire 1 year after the medical- which is weeks away.
What can we do? Is anyone been in a similar situation? We physically can't move that quickly. We have jobs to tie up and leave and a house to sell.
Can it be extended? If so then by how long?
Thanks!
