Could you please tell us something more about your hearing, like how long it last and how did everything go in hearing?

hearing was about 3:30 hours..
everything went smoothly just because of our confident answers..
I am sure your lawyer told you at the time that the January date was procedure and never was going to happen so wouldn’t say that it was rescheduled. They have stopped giving out the token interview dates because some people weren’t told to expect a cancellation and it was just a procedural issue not and actual scheduled interview.

I got my hearing date today for February 6th, 2020, I was in Christmas party at my work and I received an email from my lawyer. I applied for refugee on July 20th 2018.
NB: I've requested a hearing date from IRB in September 2019 though application was refused.

It is 14 months after my acceptance and PR is in process.

I'm sorry to hear that you been waiting since July 2017 believe me there is no process to get the hearing date.
In September 2019 I requested IRB to schedule my hearing but they refused my request by saying that my case has been ready yet.
I just drafted a simple letter stating my family situation and requested for a hearing date....that's it.
There is a process but you just can’t request you own date IRCC like you attempted to do a date will be assigned to you. If you could request a date everyone would start requesting one immediately because a large number have family members still abroad. Due to the large influx of asylum seekers many will have to wait 2+ years. Hopefully IRCC may have reduced maximum wait times to closer to 2 years now that they have implemented their new system.

I was in this group waiting for acceptance for 11 months. Now in PR group again waiting for 14 months and no news yet.
I hope all of us get rid of these waiting periods soon.
