Hi Guys, I have a serious concern.
does the tomorrow election in Ontario affect our life as asylum seekers?
It seems that Liberals will lose the office for sure and conservatives or democrats will come to the power.
I am very worried this new government makes our life even worse:(
Any idea?o_O

The refugee immigration program is federal - not provincial.

It can affect it. In 2 ways:
1. how much help will Ontario assign to the refugee program (and that is what is under provincial competition).
2. Since Ontario is big, it will give a message how elections next year might end up.

If you applied in October 2017 I wouldn't be expecting to hear every week. I would focus on each month. You likely have a while to wait.
I am excited because of 2 other people that I know from my country and they were on expedited loop were accepted 2 weeks and 1 week before today (8 months in total waiting after applying).
They applied same time as I did! Should I be hopeful I am the next person who receives the answer soon?

Realistically, probably closer to early 2019 before you hear anything with the current backlog.

Great. All positive signs.
