Posting my application to the wrong processing office in Canada

I need a little help.

My partner is sponsoring me through the family sponsorship program to Canada. I live in the Europe and she is in Canada. She posted the application to the Vegreville processing office instead of the Mississauga processing office. We checked the cic web site and based on the date of aplications being processed right now they should have reviewed our application.
We called the CIC office but they said once it is opened and realised its the wrong office they will forward it to the right office.

I have a few questions.

- Has any one being through this in the pass.
- How long did it take to forward the application to Mississauga.
- What happens to our application when it goes to Mississauga. Do we get to the back of the queue.
- Any advice on how to get this transfer to Mississauga faster

In short any help/ advise on this will be much appreciated

You have to sit it out. They send it to Mississauga and you will keep your spot time wise. I have seen another person sending the app to a different CIC center and they got their approval within the posted timeline. There is nothing you can do at this stage other than wait.

Based on the cic Mississauga office weekly update they are now working on applications recieved between the 26th July and 29th July

Thats why I am now confused on what to do next

Not to alarm u, but u could be in for a long wait because u sent your application to the inland location and that currently takes 7 or 8 months for sponsor approval. If I were u I would try calling the call centre again and keep trying until u get someone who is a little more helpful. It might help if u have your mail tracking handy. There might not be anything they can do bit I'd still try callinf daily and see if there is someone to help. I'm not sure if there is a separate call centre for inland but if there is call it and try to get the application posted to Mississauga or your wait could be incredibly long.
