Wish I would've just filed it back in November, but, oh well, here we are. But, we are a lot more prepared than we were, likely we will have a much better time of it than we would have if we'd applied back then.

I have everything done with the packet except my FBI clearance and me and kid's photos.

We're going to just do outland processing, we were back and forth on it before. We're finishing up prepping our house for sale and then we will rent here in the USA until we get an approval.

We changed our whole plan around- I feel like we have a much better plan going into this now. We were going to buy a house, instead we will just rent to make sure we've ended up somewhere we want to be. I've been able to find rentals around London, ON that will fit our needs well. My job has switched to telecommuting, so, my car is being sold next week as soon as we finish using it to haul stuff around. We doubled up on spouse's car payments because he is in love with his mustang and planning to take it with him. We'll buy something basic with cash when we get there for winter driving. We should have the mustang paid off within 12 months which looks like about the time my immigration should be ready. I've been in contact with a couple accountants in Ontario who have given me some decent ideas for finding remote bookkeeping jobs there as soon as I can work.

My big question is processing times- we will be moving into a rental that likely has a 12 month lease, likely with the option to go month-to-month when the lease is up.

What are the chances we would have to move over before the lease is up? My big concern is that we are a really easy case, we've been married 15 years, live together, have a kid, all that fun stuff. I would assume with Covid we'd still definitely be looking at the whole 12 months. Any thoughts? Nobody's seen anything wacky like the whole thing being processed in 5 months for some people since Covid?

Very hard to predict but we haven’t seen fast processing times for US applicants like 5 months. Would assume 8+ months is a good target. Would wait until you get your medical requests so that you’ll have one full year to land from the date of the medical.

Thank you, yes, I won't do medical a moment before it's requested. Hopefully it's less risky to go to a doctor's office by the time I need to get the medical. Florida has been an interesting place lately.. lol
