Hi all, I would be grateful if any postdocs working in the science field could give me some information/experience.

As some of you may know, the employment status of postdoc worldwide is not very clear:

1.In some countries, postdocs are employees. That said, the postdoc will have to pay tax.

2. On the other hand, some countries treat postdocs as trainees. That said, the postdoc will not have to pay tax.

My question is, in case #2, do you think CIC will count the postdoc appointment as "working experience" for CRS ranking score?

Real stories from you or your friends are particularly welcome.

Thanks

Yes I think postdoc is counting as a work experience. Get a detailed letter stating your

Taxation is not a question here, both phd n postdoc research experience is considered as work experience, as far as u meet noc requirement, 30 hrs per week.
I got points for my phd research xp although it wasn't taxed, also getting postdoc xp points but this one is taxed...mostly postdocs fall under 4011 NOC, unless some uses specific to their field e.g. biologists, chemists etc...
Important is ur uni or supervisor shud provide job reference letter as per cic standards, and ur duties shud match with noc....attach scholarship proof as supporting doc...
