Hello everyone,

1. Do postdoc positions count points to Express Entry?
2. If I win a Banting Fellowship, can the two-year experience count as a CEC? Or just as Work Experience to Express Entry?
3. Under the postdoc position or fellowship, can my husband come to Canada? What rights he will have? Can he get a work permit?
4. I have the score to apply for the EE, also my husband. But we need to wait until the COVID-19 situation improves to do the IELTS and validate our diplomas. If I get a postdoc position, can I apply to Express Entry? This can help in the EE process?

If you get a postDoc position, your husband can come as dependent and he will get open work permit. As for as experience points for CEC that will depend on your field and duties which you are performing, often PostDocs can involve teaching a course as well, sometime it is just research. However since you guys already have points for EE, once the situation is over just take IELTS and apply in EE.
