PostDoc work permit

Hi all,
I have submitted my work permit application via online since 11th Dec 2016 until now nothing happened. I know that they will take time and I am not sure if the the estimated processing time tool on CIC website whether it is for the online or paper-based applications.

The problem is my contract as a postdoc at University of Toronto stated that i should start the work at 1st of February 2017 which is next month.

So far I only did my biometrics (Malaysia) without any update on medical request or any other thing..

Please help me and advise what should I do as my work starting day is coming very soon and There is no further update on my application.

I think you can contact your employer (your postdoc advisor and probably they have a postdoc office or HR) and let them know that you are still waiting for the work permit.
They should have had similar experiences and will let you know.
