Postdoc offer, PhD not conferred, work permit at border query

Hi guys,

I will apply for a work permit visa as a postdoctoral fellow in Canada. I will apply next week, but my PhD thesis will be defended only in december. If I submit a letter from my institution attesting that I will finish in december its ok? Because even after presenting my thesis, my PhD is not awarded immediately and the postdoc starts in January.

Hello, i have just submitted my application for a postdoctoral work permit LMIA exempt, have you got a response?
for my case, here is my timeline and i am still waiting:
application : 13 November
20 biometric received
22 November : medical received

my post doc contract should start on 1st December, but my employer sent me a letter for autorisation of start till january
what about you ? did you received a response? generally we are are eligible for the 14 days processing times right ?

Hi, yes it works! I attached a proof that I will defend in December and I got the visa two weeks after apply.
