Postdoc and Express Entry/CEC

Hello everyone,

I am looking to postdoc positions and I have some questions.

1. Do postdoc positions count to Express Entry?
2. If I win a Banting Fellowship, can the two-year experience count as a CEC? Or just as Work Experience to Express Entry?
3. Under the postdoc position or fellowship, can my husband come to Canada? What rights he will have? Can he get a work permit?
4. I have the score to apply for the EE, also my husband. But we need to wait until the COVID-19 situation improves to do the IELTS and validate our diplomas. If I get a postdoc position, can I apply to Express Entry? This can help in the EE process?

Hey,
1) Yes it will be counted for EE
2) Yes it will be counted 2 years under CEC for EE
3) He can come with you with an open work permit and the validity of his work permit would be the same as yours if you are coming on work permit. If you are accompanying him in your PR application then he will also come with you as a permanent residence
4) Yes, if you get a postdoc you will get additional points for a valid job offer in EE profile
