Hello everyone,

I got the PPR email two days ago and I am planning to submit all the documents today.

There are two things that I am not sure about that hopefully you can help me with.

I have been asked to provide the following documents:

You must submit together:

1. One copy of this letter.

2. ORIGINAL VALID PASSPORT(S), as explained in Step 2.

3. Two (2) photos of yourself and each accompanying family member respecting precise specifications that can be found at:

4. Payment of Right of Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF) $490CAD x 1, 2, 3. Payment instructions are found at: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/fees/index.asp

5. The complete address in which you intend to live in Canada and specify your current country of residence.

My two quesions are:

On point 4 they ask me to submit payment of RPRF. These were paid since the submission of my application during on the date of AOR. Should I just ignor this or should I print and provide a copy of the receipt I got for that payment (Receipt doesn't have any description of what the payment is unfortunately)

On point 5, I don't have an address as of now, what address can I give? What is it used for?

Appreciate your help on this.

At point 4 u can print and submit they will know if it’s ur. Bcoz I know one case in which they asked for payment details again after submitting of payment details. That person sent these receipts and they solved this issue.
For point 5 it’s confusing u can take advice of seniors.

I'm from India and planning to make soft landing in July'19 via Toronto Airport and will probably return in a day or two.

Kindly help me out with the following queries.

1. Should I land on a Weekday to get my SIN applied or can this be done on Weekends as well? Any preferred arrival time of the flight that I should look for?
2. Pls provide links to posts that list the items / documents to be carried.
3. Any important things that I can do/need to do during my short stay after landing?

Hi all, congratulations on your PPR.. I am planning on going to VFS Mumbai to submit the passports tomorrow.. Anyone frm Mumbai who's done this recently? Do they really hav the photo booth facility? Can anyone confirm/deny this? Thanks in advance.. Also do v need the biometric letters jst in case? I have the receipt so I believe v wont b charged any courier fees or is tht unavoidable.. Cos the Biometrics reciept says its covered. Any thoughts?

I sent my copies of passport last week and waiting for them to send me copr paper. I am thinking of landing at the border but I have a concern regarding entering the US. About six years ago, my husband overstayed in the USA for about two weeks. When he left, there was no order to leave or anything. He left with no trouble. He is going to flag pole with me at the border but we are worried that the history of him overstaying in US is going to be a problem. Please advise me on the matter if anyone has similar experience or has any idea what to do. Thanks!

Submitted the passports at VFS mumbai.. Photos taken in VFS booth.. Saves a lot of trouble... Paid 1146 (2 passports + sms service) + 300 for 2 photos each..

Hi friends, I did my landing in Vancouver 3 days back on the 27th May. Just wanted to share it was very simple process and was done before I knew it.

I travelled from US. On landing had to go to a computerized checkin. Enter basic information and scan passport --> Go through immigration (just asked why I am here. I mentioned landing for PR) --> Collect luggage --> Go to new arrivals section (On the right there is section for New Arrivals) --> Leave luggage there and go for landing process --> Present COPR + Passport + list of goods to follow (Did not request for anything else) --> Landing done in 15 minutes.

Later in the day visited SIN office and got my SIN number.
There are people to help at all points so just ask if you are confused about anything.

Now I'm waiting for my PR card. They mentioned that even though 13 days is mentioned on the site, expect the time to be anywhere between 4 to 6 weeks to get the card.

Guys I feel bad even talking about this, but I have some serious doubts. I submitted my passport to VFS today (got the passport request on May 13th, yesterday) thinking that it means my application is approved and CIC is asking for passport only to stamp it with the visa. But I went through some forums where people said it does not mean my application is approved if I get the PPR. There are chances of being rejected even after the PPR.

I have submitted all the docs required and shown more than required proof of funds. Medicals also passed. Also submitted PCC. The medicals and PCC are valid till August this year. Is there any chance of rejection at this stage?

I got a mail from VFS today saying the passport is dispatched to the New Delhi Visa Office. Is there anyone for whom the rejection has come after submitting the passport to VFS?

Did you try checking your online profile to see if the status is updated?
Also, every single forum you read and the advice provided is not going to be applicable to your case, so don't worry about rejections.

You can even call the agent at IRCC and check the status if you are still concerned.

You can get the SIN at the airport if you land during the opening hours of service Canada but it’s no big deal to get it after as well. You don’t lose anything.

Be sure to open your first bank accounts and credit cards to begin building your credit even while out of the country and to take advantage of no fee new immigrant offers.

Hi All,

Received my PPR today. I have a few questions regarding the next steps:

1. How long does the process take? Meaning when would I receive my Passport back?
   
2. I'll be moving to germany for work in less than two weeks, do I inform IRCC about this? My contact details changes only after 2 weeks. I have a visa stamping of 1 year on my passport.
   
3. Does having a work visa of another country effect my canada application?
   
4. If and when I receive the Passport, am I required to visit VFS for biometrics?

Hi All

I got the Ready for Visa email today (Indian resident applying from India with spouse). Needed one clarity - regarding photos, We had got our pics clicked 7 months back as we also had to submit DIgital Photo for the EE application (One of them had date & photographer details on the back). Now for submitting passports, it says your pics should be recent within last 6 months. and one of them to have date and photographer details on the back. Shall we get new photos clicked? or will the old ones work?

Yes they just go through that list of questions and you have to answer them correctly.
