We are French nationals, we received a letter asking to send copies of our passports to the embassy in Paris. Do I need to attach a return envelope ? Will we receive something back?

We get back CoPR from them.
I am also from EU and not sure if we received similar mail but mine had detail instruction. I was requested to submit
  • Two Passport-sized photographs as per Canadian norms
  • Copy of passport
  • Copy of receipt for RPRF payment
  • Printout of the first page only of this letter ( the rfv letter)
  • Write a covering letter (confirming your mailing address)
It said I can send it via private courier or registered mail. And for the pick up, i can arrange private courier , give them pre-paid envelope or they will send back the CoPR in a regular mail. As my passport is not involved, I plan to send the photo & other docs via registered mail and receive CoPR via regular mail

In my letter they requested
-copies of passports of all family members
- print out of the letter
- 2 photos
- a letter with height and eye colour for each accompanying member of the family.

I decided to send it via registered mail together with prepaid envelope.

I couldn't find prepaid envelope option here (checked local post , ups and dhl) so I am settling for regular mail. I searched this forum and couple of people confirmed they received it ok. Lets see how it goes. Good luck with everything else!

Hi guys, mine is the same. How can you arrange a curier service for sending the COPR back to us? How many days does it take the embassy to issue the COPR and shall they contact the curier?

Since it is not specified I think they are meant to send you documents via regular mail. I sent a registered letter today, I also put inside a prepaid envelope though I’m sure that wasn’t necessary. No idea how long it will take

I will send it with courier because I want to be sure it will be there on time and then wait for the regular mail on the way back. I hope it won't get lost.
