I sent my wife today a bunch of nice gifts as well as a say 100+ page update to our CIC Kit, Six months of phone records since we applied, a family vacation trip report (tickets, boarding passes, visa's, receipts, and 24 additional pictures), financial update showing how she is using her card in Moscow as I use my in Chatham, Many cards we send to each other, family, and friends.. yeh we love the technology but we are also old school at times as receiving a card in the mail rather than an email is so sweet. Updated evidence in every category in a way. If she gets called in for an interview she will have very good documentation to go in with, and mostly I just wanted her to have everything nicely done and ready as there will be enough stress for her if they ask for a interview let alone running around and getting evidence togther.

I do not care how big our application is, and as I said before they are SMART people and they do not look at everything, rather leaf threw it till there satasfied.. Lots of evidence does not slow down the process I feel, but may avoide a interview.

My advice isn't to send in a small amount, all I am saying is that there is a tendency to see someone send X in and for another person to send X + Y.

Just be true to yourself and if you feel you have sent enough, it most probably is.
I actually thought our application was over the top until I came here and as I say, I would have been freaking out that I haven't sent enough. Sometimes it is better to go with your own instinct than to just try and outdo others, which is a culture that this place can inadvertently breed.

Anyway, my advice is obviously unwanted, so please everyone, spend your life collating evidence instead of actually getting to where you want to be.
Sorry, Alan. I do agree that a huge application is not always necessary, and I didn't mean to belittle your advice.

The goal is not to make your application bigger than anyone else's. It's just to make sure that the IO has the info he or she need and can find it in your package. Some applications will need more than others do.

Heck I thought this was silly initially, until I started adding mine together. I mean it is an INCH for sure, even BEFORE i throw some of the additional stuff in there! I still have to add documents that I have had for a while at home, as well as pictures, and some email etc. just to prove we've actually been together for as long as we have.

our biggest problem is that since we moved from Winnipeg to London, I have taken over all the stuff, as in it is my name on all bills and the lease... However I guess it does not matter, as we have bank accounts together.

Holy, it's going to be large!
Cheers
H.

i guess it's always better to have too much information and pages than not enough?
anyone who posted their huge packages in this thread got aproved yet?

I was just copying my facebook wall and it's 135 pages of history...
Not I now I can just print everything and include it all since everyone's package is so big

:D

that's pretty much all we have, facebook & friendster inbox & walls..
not a lot of phone bills (some), some airplane tickets, some photos and ya...

My application was 5 lbs, you saw the pics here. I posted TOO much information for a straight-forward case, and my husband and I were approved in 2 months total. So at the end of the day, it really is just about organization not size.

vonster it shouldn't matter if it is inland or outland. It will still be (or should be if going by regulations) looked at the same way no matter which way you apply. Eventually you have to have faith in your evidence that they can tell that you are genuine. Just gather all that you feel shows your love story in a great light and stop worrying about the size of the application. It has proven that both small and large ones have been approved. The same with being denied. All we can all do is supply the best evidence we feel shows that we are true. None of us can tell you what the IO's decision is going to be but I do hope that for all the sakes of the genuine ones applying that the decision is positive.

I believe you will just be fine. Just focus on your own application and chose the best evidence you think fits your situation. If they need more they will more than likely ask you for some more or you will be asked for an interview. Most important thing is that you feel confident at the time you submit your application no matter the size and sent it off with lots of luck and love. Then wait and hope for the best. Good luck vonster, we are here for you and you will do great okay. :)
