Here is our final kit, I do not have a picture of it all "stacked" but all the papers on the table were included with the pack of pictures, so it probably in total looked about 1/3rd higher of a stack.

The main stack is mostly evidence, the 2nd stack is all the forms, One envelope of 81 pictures, the envelope I covered personal data on contianed all our passport type photos, but yeh eveything on the table went in. and at least 30% of it was printed on both sides of the page to save space lol.

On the Postal Recipt is says;

- Actual Weight 2.703 kg (5.949 Pounds)

This bears little relevance. If CIC or the visa office cared so much about how large it was and how it affected processing times, we would have more restrictions set. It's so sad to see so many negative comments on this thread about the size of applications. :(

The visa officer knows what to look for. They will skim through the application accordingly. It pains me to see forum members blamed for processing times. I can't understand that.

hmm im not here to blame anyone for anything.. our application was super tiny in comparison.. just 600 grams.. and i thought that was a lot --

i think though that posting pictures intimidates people -- and the pictures are like boasting the bigger the better...
we'll see -- we haven't been approved yet.. but really there is no reason not to be...

we didnt include every single type of evidence.. -- just a 10 page with pictures embedded in timeline.. if they need more answers then they can ask for them.... my ideas anyway.

I wish I knew now big my package was before it went in and what it looked like. The downfall of having a lawyer. But she did assure me she sent everything that I had given her as evidence. She said it was the biggest file she has ever sent into CIC (and she deals with many complicated cases, lol, we were just a straight forward case).

Awwww :)

I never thought to take a photo of our app, but it certainly wasn't much to look at. However we must have included enough of the right kind of information as we got approved pretty quickly, so take heart!

The size of the application I doubt effects processing time much as so much is just repetitive information, and I would rather have too much evidence then not enough. Ours had about 130 pages of email summary and selected emails printed most both sided, and the detailed cell phone records were another 50+ pages. I doubt they care to look at more than the first few pages, however if only a few pages were included they may then wonder. So although our application looks think most of it they will be like yeh no question of this and that after leaving though several pages of one type of evidence. I did not wish to take any chances as she is the most important thing in my life and I do not want to delay the process because they wish more evidence in some area.

It all depends on your situation and what you need to prove and how much evidence you actually have available. I definitely don't think that the thickness and weight of your package will necessarily corelate directly with success.

I had some university professors that joked about grading term papers by throwing them down a staircase. The ones that went the farthest (likely the heaviest ones) would get the highest grades. Of course, no-one actually does this, but the fact is that weight does not necessarily make for a better application, so I wouldn't worry about your applications being thinner than some.

I think the important thing is that all the information they want is there when they're looking for it. No-one is really going to sit and read through a 4" thick application like it was a novel, in spite of the fact that many applicants feel like they've been writing a novel. You have to think of it more like a encyclopedia that you consult to find out the answer that you are seeking. (That doesn't mean it has to look like the old 30-volume set of Britannica!)

For Sure, hoever back to my original comment I would rather have more Evidence included then less. :)

I don't think anyone should worry about the size of the application but more the evidence they included.
We all worked hard and I myself love to see a visual of what everyone here has been working so hard on.

I took a picture of mine just for my own prosperity and I also posted it on Facebook to show friends and family just what I was complaining and whining so much about doing. Lol. None of them could believe that it took a lot of quality evidence to prove a relationship. So I figured the picture was a nice way of showing them that, yes, this process is far from easy and should be taken seriously.

But with all due respect, I think we have a right to "show off" or be boastful about our applications and want to show people. I think this thread was a good idea. Not to intimidate people but to show that this takes hard work, different ways to organize apps, and to show that a variety of evidence can come in many sizes dependent of country and situation. I don't know about anyone else but sometimes I look at this and say "Gosh why didn't I think of doing that with my own?"

I am hoping this thread will continue to be bumped and be used as a way to be proud of ourselves. Good luck to everyone.
All of them look wonderful. Lets keep the negativity out and continue to be encouraging. We all did it the best way to our situations and think that is all the matters.

I used the same size box for mine, and weighed almost 8lb!! Yours looks very similar to mine, and as for the comment on how long it will take for them to process your application..took CHC-London just over 1 month to make a decision on my application and it had a lot in it!! In Process 15th July, Decision made 22nd August, Passport Requested 26th August! :D

yours has to be the fastest app processing ever!

well done!

re: "I also posted it on Facebook to show friends and family just what I was complaining and whining so much about doing"

Thats kinda why I took those pics- not to lord it over people about size or any nonsense like that, but to show my family-friends etc what we've been dealing with.

They hear 'application' and think of something on the scale of applying for college - ie, a few pages...

HAH! :D

The problem is that people see others making huge applications and it slows them down as they think they have to go back and add even more. If someone on here says they have sent 100 photos, the person reading that will send 120, "just to be on the safe side" and it just escalates.

I am glad I never visited this site until I had posted off my application, or I would have been really worried my small manilla envelope with about 20 photos and about an inch thick would be totally inadequate, when in fact it was enough to do the job.

I think sometimes that people would be better off getting professional advice, rather than just reading through all the posts on here.
