Hi Fiends,

There are few questions in my profile for which I need your help, these are :
Under work history section > Research related questions
1. The following questions are about your education and work experience recognition in Canada. IRCC will only use this information for research, performance measurement or evaluation purposes and not to make a decision about your profile or application. Your answers are important and will help improving employment services.

what should one select here yes or no?

2. If we select yes then there are further questions which says : Have you looked for a job in Canada in your primary occupation? What best describes the last action you took?

if I answer yes or no to above question then the next questions are :

3. Have you checked to see if your education and work experience in your primary occupation would be accepted in Canada?

what should one select here ?

4. Some jobs are regulated in Canada. You would need a license or certification to practice these jobs. Do you know if your primary occupation or trade is regulated?

My primary occupation code is 2174.

Please help me decide what should be the right answer to all these question or how can I get the answers ?

I have the same question as OP. I filled out work history part 2 weeks ago and didn't see this part under work history. It showed work history section was complete. Now when I log back in, it shows work history is in process. Weird.......

But I feel like answers to these questions don't affect applications as they shouldn't,

It happened the same with me, I only said the truth. I cannot look for a job in my primary occupation if I am skilled at a profession that is regulated in Canada, so I need to revalidate it first in order to find a job under the field.

I said :

"3. Have you checked to see if your education and work experience in your primary occupation would be accepted in Canada?

what should one select here ?"

YES here... because I did check with my Board and they accepted my documents - however I would still have to pass the proper board exams in order to practice in my primary occupation.

"4. Some jobs are regulated in Canada. You would need a license or certification to practice these jobs. Do you know if your primary occupation or trade is regulated?"
YES here too, as it is a regulated profession.

I feel like they want to probe people that are coming to Canada whether they are making efforts to practice under their primary occupation really. You know, there are a lot of physicians, dentists, lawyers and etc that come to canada as skilled, and they will end up never working in their primary occupation again - for many reasons, costs, opportunities and etc. In Australia they will only allow one to be invited by their FSW program if one is licensed to practice there, which is near impossible for some professions in the health sciences area.

Are you guys also international students in Canada? I am trying to understand whether they only added those extra questions to be answered by students that are already in Canada or if they want to know it from all people applying as FSW.

Best of luck, guys!!

I'm not a student and I'm applying under FSW Outland.
I believe there's no right or wrong here, just answer them honestly.

Is the new reference section enabled/applicable to everyone post ITA?

Strangely, i was on the documents checklist page and today when i logged in, that page is no longer visible, and the profile page shows incomplete with the addition of "reference" section. Just curious if it is only for few people or everyone!

Hi, I have same occupation code as you and am filling my application. May I know what is your status now, and what did you answer to the question:
"Have you checked to see if your education and work experience in your primary occupation would be accepted in Canada?"

I have my WES report that validated my education credentials for Canada, but in the list I don't know which option to choose.

Your advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
