Hi Guys,

I am facing weird problem and not sure how to deal with it. Post ITA in family section it asks to provide details about details about spouse, parents and brother/sister. I don't have any siblings so that's optional for me and spouse details I have no issue.

Problem I have is my mother( her name is on my passport) got divorced with my father and my father married 2nd time. Now I am confused when entering mother information as part of parents should I enter the details about my mother whose name is on my passport or information about my step mom.? My first mother and we are not really on a good term and I don't have any documents of her to support/validate her information. Does CIC requires to upload parents documents.?

Re: Post ITA - Family Section Complication

You're not required to upload any documents.

You have to add them both step-mother and mother.

Re: Post ITA - Family Section Complication

Also Regarding Spouse,

My wife had different name before marriage and it's now different. so Passport has different name then all her degree and marriage certificate.

When I applied her spouse dependent work permit I have mentioned both name in work permit form. Now in EE I obviously will mention that she has use different name previously but do I require any affidavit or notary to proof that current name on passport and name on degree/marriage certificate are actually same person. ??

There is a template here - http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/express-entry-in-a-nutshell-t394158.2310.html

Just bring the document to a notary public.

I don't think you need this. You will be asked to provide a document that proves your spouse's name change, such as a marriage certificate or similar. That is enough for IRCC, no need to notarize any affidavits.

You need to clarify. Is the name change the result of her taking your surname after marriage? If so, the marriage certificate will suffice as proof.

Yes before marriage it was HerName HerFatherName and HerSurname,

Now it's HerName MyName(Husband's Name) and MySurName.

I think it's very common plus marriage certificate and passport I will be providing any way so wouldn't a LOE be sufficient.?

Her name is consistent in all her degree and after marriage I kept her new name consistent in pcc and medical that I recently applied for her.

Hi Batman,
I'm in the similar situation except I took my husband's family name after marriage. Therefore all my certificates are with my maiden name, but current documents are with married name. When I changed my family name to his, I received a document as proof of name change. Does your wife has that? Just let that be translated and you are good to go!

Not really she doesn't have anything. She actually never had a passport before marriage. So post marriage when applying for her passport we provided new name which has her givenname followed by my name and my family name so when I applied for her WP and medical and PCC we used new names, only thing is marriage certificate and her education degress have her maiden name. (which I am not claiming any points btw so not sure if I need to submit) Also in my e-APR I am saying that she used different name before and was wondering if that really requires an affidavit ?

You do not require an affidavit. The marriage certificate is sufficient proof of her name change.

Thanks that's helpful. If I need to submit my wife's document with her maiden name I will provide LOE.
