Hello,
this forum is amazing. Thanks for reading this post!

I have a question in regard to processing times for Post-Graduation Work Permits at the CPC Vegreville. I am in Canada as an international student on a Study Permit which expires Dec. 1, 2010. I have completed the degree requirements and an official letter of my university confirms this.

I have to decide whether to apply (a) online or (b) via Xpresspost (=snail mail) for the Post-Graduation Work Permits at the CPC Vegreville. Do I understand this page (cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/canada/process-in.asp#temp_res) correctly, that at the moment an

(a) online application takes about 56 days
"Online (All other e‑applications) August 19, 2010 56 days" - citation from CIC website

(b) snail mail application takes about 20 days
"Work Permits
(New Employer Unit 555) (IMM 5553) September 24, 2010 20 days"
- citation from CIC website

??

What are my options to ensure that I can stay in Canada in case I don't get the Post-Graduation Work Permit before Dec. 1 (=expiry of my study permit)? Can I extend my study permit even though I have completed all requirements for my study program?

Thank you very much for your help!

ok I'm not sure 100% about that... but I heard that you can apply to extend your study permit just to wait your post graduate work permit they can extend it for 3 months only while you are waiting for your PGW
any ways and because you are in Canada if you want to be sure call CIC in there 1800 number and they will answer you
