I almost finish my 2-year program (Co-op) in a private college. I am preparing to apply Post Graduation Work Permit.
What kind of documents I have to submit? I am a newbies here, hopefully could get some suggestions from experts here. Thanks!!
Since you said private college, I'm thinking whether your college comes under approved post-secondary colleges. What I have heard is that students studying in private colleges are not even allowed to apply for off-campus work permit, so post-graduate would definitely not be a possibility. But in case your college is approved post-secondary college, then you need proof of your completing your program (a final transcript or a graduation letter). You also have to complete the application form IMM5710E and have a copy of your passport scanned with sate of issue, expiry, your name page plus any pages with stamp that should definitely have the most recent entry to Canada stamp. If you are applying online, you need all these scanned plus you need to attach a digital photo and need a checklist number which can be a pain. If you are applying by mail, you don't need photo or checklist number, instead you will need a printed document checklist. You should apply for this permit within 90 days of your receiving final grades.

I applied for study permit restoration on September 11th and still waiting. I know it's 90 days process but is there any hope that i can get it earlier. One of my friend applied for study restoration via paper application and she got in two months.I applied online and i read on CIC site that online applications take half time then paper application. Thank you

Did you try calling CIC and check the status with them? It's bit different in a way it's bit positive and quick to get a response from CIC from within Canada. Try calling them or write an email. Yes you are right, it doesn't take two months usually for the process. But you never know. So better give them a call.

Wish you luck!

Hey hifi78, thank you for your patience to give me so much useful information :)
Yes, I heard students from our college are not allowed to apply post graduate work permit if they registered after 30th Auguest 2012. But I was registered on Feb 2012. So I will try to apply it. Thank you so much again.

Hey everybody,

I have another question about applying work permit. My program is 2-year program. one year study at school and the another year is for geting 1075 work hours. But I worked as a full time worker. So I have finished work hours in 9 months. So if I apply work permit I could get 3 years or just one year and 9 months?

Thanks a lot

i know a few cases and all with smiling faces. Even if your restoration takes 2 years, you can stay in Canada, but the only condition is, you can't work or study.

Cheers!

Following to my case,,
I have recieved a letter from the imigration as they determind technical problem in the system and they were able to prosses my first application "the one i appled for PGWP and it was missed the copy of my passport"

in fact after i recieved the refussed letter for the first application i sent, then i wrote an explination letter with a print screan that i have already uploded copy of my passport,, but i had to do another application in the same time with resturation stuts.

However: I recieved the PGWP on 10 of Oct 2013 for almost 3 years untill my passport expired "first application passed"
and i canceled the second application and also I recieved my funds back from immigration 350$.
200$ resturation stuts fees
150$ work permit fees.

I went to immigration consultant for advise regarding restoration my post graduate work permit. But he said you have already got refused so your case is so week. He advised me to apply for study permit again. Is that right option for me to apply for study permit again if i already got work permit refusal. If i apply for study permit is there any hope that i can get that. This is so confused and depressed situation. Can you please guide me.
he is a dumb head....reapply giving ur transcript, letter from your college that you were full time student, your offer letter and u wiwll get it..you must have missed some document while applying....ur case isn't weak at all.

what's the name of your college and where is it?
